What type of wig should I choose: synthetic, human hair, or a blend?
Deciding which type of product to choose can be a daunting experience.
Although obvious price differentials may lead some consumers to assume that human hair wigs are most expensive, and therefore the best products, this does not always ring true. Synthetic wigs, which now look as natural and stylish as human hair wigs, are also easier to care for, require minimal care, will not accept major change to style and are, of course, less costly than human hair products.
Will my insurance cover my wig?
Most insurance companies cover wigs when medically prescribed.
A prescription and preauthorization are needed. You should consult your wig professional for more details.
Are wigs easy to care for?
Yes, with proper care wigs are easy to maintain.
Synthetic wigs require washing, with any type of gentle shampoo, only once every seven times the wig is worn. They hold their style and color so there is no upkeep for the wigs.
When should I shop for a wig?
If possible before your hair loss begins, so your wig stylist can evaluate your hair style and color.

Are there any alternatives to a wig?
Yes, turbans, hats, and scarves, are comfortable for leisure and sport activities when you choose not to wear a wig.
These can also be worn in the kitchen, where synthetic wigs should not be worn, as the heat can compromise their style.
How can I ensure wig comfort and security?
By getting a referral to an experienced professional whom will help you select the correct wig.
A stylist will also be able to sow the wig so that you have the most comfortable and secure fit possible.
